Nope it's as real as a tooth ache. Done mainly for big catfish like blues and flatheads in not too deep streams. Wading waist deep water and feeling in sunken hollow logs and holes in the bank. Feel around and grab that fish by the mouth and hope it isn't too big and clamps down. Me? Screw that stuff. You can reach in and grab a muskrat, snapping turtle or a snake. Guys who do that don't have the plastic thingy for their 6-pack.
