I guess I should expound on this:

I think someone needs to go to jail for fraud. I mean there is not doing research and then there's fraud. The new CEO et al needs to look into it.

If MAT doesn't take a pro-active stance on this you can bet naive shareholders teamed with the sharks will.

And the existing shareholders will take another hit.... and the sharks will make more money at our expense. We all know (I hope by now) that those various and sundry "shareholder" lawsuits only benefit one group of fish. Finding people who feel they have been "wronged" is very profitable these days. If there was fraud involved let's put the fraudsters in JAIL. It won't help the MAT share price but it won't HURT it either. Losing one's job is not the price to pay for illegal activity. The price to pay for not doing your research is losing your job.

Sorry for the Sunday morning rant. My wife and kids are out learning to be kinder and gentler but their heathen Daddy is is worshiping at the false altar of technology <VBG>.

Mattel may not have thoroughly researched the software
industry before it bought Learning Co., analysts said.

Granted, the above is a gigantic understatement. Almost everyone knew MAT overpaid. In terms of fraud, however, I don't think anyone at MAT is guilty of fraud, only malfeasance (unfortunately for us).

Also, who checked off on that severance package those two Learning Co. guys received when they left? Oy!
