GMGC Financial Condition - Current Assets

Secondsout & Equity from SI or anyone else on SI or RB, can you help with a guess on the financial positions of GMGC?

I am trying to determine the current assets of GMBC as of February 1, 2000. Here are the figures I come up with.

Sep 30, 1999 Current Assets $16 million
----------------------------------------------------------
Oct - ?? Cripple Creek Financing $15 million
Nov- Dec GM Financing $15 million
Dec - Jan GM Revenue (part of deal)$ 5 million
Oct - Jan (4 mos) Other Revenue, A Guess $ 5 million
Oct - Jan (4 mos) Expenses, A Guess ($22 million)
----------------------------------------------------------
Feb 1, 2000 Est. Current Assets $34 million

I put $5 million of the Cripple Creek financing in the Sep 30 position and the remainder after Sep 30. I also have the $6 million Excite equity contribution in the Sep 30 position. Correct?

The $34 million is a bit better than the number I had in my head before. I think the burn rate could accelerate to $5 or $6 million, but that would still mean the funds can get them to September. Panic sets in about July 1 if there are no new deals.

Dave, in the chaos of all the things I read, somewhere I remember mention of a Palm device being able to open the automatic locks on your car doors using the infrared beam. Could it be that a super device will emerge that will be more functional than a cell phone. Well, of course it will, but let's face it, when this device arrives, it will be graphic.

I have to basically agree with you though. Logically, it makes little sense for GMGC to have any problem doing nearly everything they do today in a car and still need GM for anything but credibility and cash. You want hands free, just use an ear bud with a microphone. Portico is a hands free device today and it has been so for years. I don't get it.

Now GM on the other hand has an interesting product in OnStar, but it is severly limited because they rely on people to answer a phone and have a big dialog to complete a crisis situation. Unless they want to hire the 35,000 operators AT&T recently layed off, they need GMGC.

If GMGC had had any success with previous projects, they would have walked away from an exclusive deal to work with GM. What's the point?

Regards,

Mark
