Jman:

1.approx 149 mil shares outstanding, 63 mil or so float.
1 ADR=5 equity shares.

2.CMGI- It has been reported in the press to be so. ICICI has a venture Capital division who invests in promising startups in India and abroad.

3.Internet Stock Trading- slated to be operational soon, probably as early as end of Feb or early march. Company hopes to sign up 7K customer a month. How does it compare to eTrade I can't say for sure, probably favorably.
The size of the market is :- approx 20-25 mil retail investors in India at present and another 10-15 mil non residents abroad,as and when technology becomes more pervasive in the country this number could increase exponentially since the market is not easily accessible to many at the moment, especially in the villages.

4.Advantages- Icici is very aggressively deploying technology into all aspects of their operations, probably the leader among Indian banks in this area.Comparatively young, highly educated, aggressive and talented management.
Disadvantage-compared to other banks like State Bank Of India who has over 3000 branches across the country, icici has limited number of branches, though they are present in all major cities they lack presence in rural areas in my knowledge.I think they have some 60 or so branches in all major cities of the country.

4.B2B yes, B2C yes

I do have more of Sify than IC/ICd, also I have traded Sify many times since it came to market. I don't know how long my positions in any stocks would be as I am sort of an impetuous investor.

BTW: ICICI Ltd (IC/ICd) is not a really just Bank,it is a holding company for some 10 different financial services ventures, one of them being ICICI Bank (IC owns 74% of the bank) which is slated to come out with its own ipo in a month or so,the preliminary F1 has already been filed with SEC on Feb.11,00.

Sify is a pure technology play where as IC is a financial services company with considerable exposure in Technology (icici technology ltd ) and startups(icici venture) etc etc.

You can get detailed information about the company from the website.
