So, while it may take some time to "switch", the cost of doing so is negligible.

Yes, but as I understand it the reason it takes so long to make the switch is because it is so expensive for the car manufacturers to change various aspects of their models due to many factors in their businesses. I think that in itself is a high cost of switching even if the ultimate decide to switch is one or several layers of sub-contractors removed from the auto manufacturer. Do I have that right?
