Credit Card # Theft

All IDX,

Here is a link to the story....thanks to a Yahoo poster.

dailynews.yahoo.com

The business show I watched indicated it was a larger internet site.....but it should be a wake-up call.

Credit Card numbers should be job one for IT security people. To allow access to this information to large numbers of people....who have passwords written on a Post-It note on the side of their PC is silly......and endangers the enterprise.

Amazon, E-Toys....or any company, for that matter.....Must know exactly who is accessing the data. Passwords can be stolen, or sold......and even if data is stolen using a valid password....even from a valid workstation, that does not mean that the individual who was assigned the password....was the individual who stole the data.

The person whose password is used can simply throw up his hands....and say "it wasn't me"......"prove it".

Biometric authentication is a logical solution to data base security.....Amazon, Ford, Boeing, Hospitals.......you name it.

IDX does play into this......in a very big way......just nobody knows it yet.

The deeper this conversation goes.....(continued security breeches) ..the better it will be for IDX.
