I think we know CDMA demand is strong from the royalty numbers. ASIC and handset revenues seem different, but there are market mixes resulting in this set of numbers. I agree short term numbers may be suspect, but the trend in royalties dictates the future beyond a quarter or two.

KYO most likely slashed 30% of the workforce, because San Diego isn't the home to the cheapest workers you can find. They can probably kick the margins up by having the assembly done in some Asian or Latin American factory. It doesn't imply that they're backing off production. Otherwise, why did they bother to buy the assets in the first place?
