Speed improvements in a mature design like PIII are due mostly to process enhancements. K7 is still an immature design and has lots of room for speed enhancements through logic redesign, circuit design, etc.

It will be very difficult for PIII to keep up with Athlon MHz.

Intel will continue screwing up forever and AMD will execute flawlessly. Right? Thank God for that because we don't want to think what could happen if Intel actually did something right. Right?

Who said anyone was counting on Intel's screwups. Intel's screwups simply are the icing on the cake.
