THOMSON broadcast systems and DISCREET have signed a sales partnership agreement in order to provide broadcast TV customers with a competitive, integrated solution which is available today from the THOMSON broadcast systems sales organisation. This new package combines THOMSON Nextore and DISCREET edit* technologies, to offer real-time integrated video capture, post-production, editing & effects, storage, networking and broadcast possibilities. ancor.com switches for THOMSON Broadcast Systems' Nextore studio servers. The switches enable THOMSON customers to access large amounts of digital video and audio via video servers at up to a gigabit/sec. on each switch port. THOMSON Broadcast Systems, a global subsidiary of THOMSON multimedia, is integrating Ancor's switches to grow storage area networks (SANs) that support its Nextore studio servers. The servers enable customers to store video and audio in digital form for acquisition, production, post-production, archiving and broadcasting applications. "We have selected Ancor as our Fibre Channel switch vendor of choice because their switches enable us to scale SANs from small to very large fabrics according to our customers needs," said Serge Daulard, research and development project manager at THOMSON Broadcast Systems. "Our customers are continually moving huge amounts of data and hub-based SANs are inadequate. Fortunately, Ancor switches blow the limits off video storage, providing company-wide increases in productivity." A picture of Nexstore......thomsonbroadcast.de
