Dear Yaacov and MSFT Longs (aka "Softees"): This is the week we have been waiting for as the product launch is set for Thursday 2/17. Expect many positive testimonials like the following: cbs.marketwatch.com I am tempering my enthusiasm though and expecting the wailing and the gnashing and the allegations to continue from jealous critics, the doj and co, and other enemies. (As JFD reports the enemies are large and powerful) This, from the AMAT thread, is why we should be optimistic, and it extends way past this week: " I mean can anyone come up with a better industry example of self-perpetuation? What a great scheme!! I have gone through 4 PC's in about 7 years and I'm really itching to get a new one ;) Same is true with so many tech items... people just want the best and software/people's need for better and faster keep pushing the envelope. And the beauty is even Joe six-pack can help push profits by finally pulling the trigger on a lower end model as new tech lovers such as myself continue to feed the kitty ever couple of years (if not sooner).
