Some Houses allow margin to margin transferral and some don't but yes you have to be with a House that allows option trading. Covered Call writing is considered about as safe and conservative of an option play there is. I try to tell people not to get too deep in to different strategies because until you have been there and done that one probably picks up about 75% of it. Putting your money down on something changes that percent to close to a 100. Another thing I forgot to mention on the Income front is that you will be taxed as ordinary income and there is no FICA, FUTA, SUTA and Med. taxes, so it beats hell out of that stressful pay check. V
