I had heard that the newer version had great scanning but I have not used Chartsmart for a couple of years and decided it was time to go back and check out their new service. Today I got the free 30 day trial and downloaded the 250 Meg data file (glad I have a DSL line <ggg>).

I spent the last 6 hours playing with the new version and was impressed with the some of the changes. The file updating service and structure is a lot more slick. The filtering system does have some great capabilities and is a lot more user friendly now and also faster (maybe just my machine). I noticed that they even let you draw on a trendline now, although it was very slow.

However my biggest let down was that they still don't give open, close, high, low data on their charts (e.g no candlesticks). So I found myself scanning for charts using the chartsmart filter but opening the chart with Metastock to get a proper look.

Best Regards
KEITH

What is the best scanning system for Canadian Stocks.
I'd like to be able to scan for unusual volume, number of trades etc.?

Thanks,
