Dear Steve Lee: Thanks for your response. I agree I would like to have the system matched at the start. Also, since I am NOT a computer whiz like the rest of you, upgrades cost me a lot more cause I have to take the equipment into a shop to have it done. Just have this innate fear of whats inside THAT BOX. Basically, my concern about this SDRAM is its running at 100mhz. Already VIA has 133mhz side bus or whatever its called and I presume INTC will ultimately come up with something equal to or better. I dont want to be in a position of not being ABLE to upgrade. For instance, in my present computer, I found that for me to upgrade it would be very expensive as even the motherboard would have to be replaced. Think it has to do with the wattage or something in mine compared to more modern.
My present system was custom built and there is an oddity about it. You know how when you boot up most systems say 512k? Well mine says 1024k. I asked the fellow who built it for me why? All he said was I knew you mainly just surf the Web and that helps you. Guess he figured I was not bright enough to understand technically what he did? JDN
