That's rediculous.

William - thanks for your comments.

"Ridiculous" means NOTHING! As I mentioned in my post, Amazon announced a strategic alliance with Drugstore.com in Feb of '99. And now we have another strategic alliance that is going to cost Drugstore.com $105 million. I find it interesting - not ridiculous - especially since the deal can be interpreted as a balance sheet transfer.

"Currently" means NOTHING!

Ah, this must be the mantra of the new economy. And current lack of profitability means nothing either - as long as we keep repeating this to ourselves, everything will be okay. Certainly the current state of a company's business as well as the current state of the competition bears some relevance. You've offered no insight into why Amazon invested in Greenlight over other online car companies. Do you have any knowledge of why Amazon chose Greenlight?

That is not the case at all.

Yes, Amazon just raised more cash. But I wrote that there were two potential reasons for Amazon's recent deals: raising cash and generating low-cost revenues. At Amazon's current burn rate, the cash just raised through the debt offering will only last them 9-12 months. To say Amazon doesn't need cash - now or 9-12 months from now - well, to say such a thing would be a bit ridiculous wouldn't it?

Thanks,
-Eric

William, if you honestly think Kleiner Perkins is anything other than organized crime on a massive scale, then you need to have your head examined.

The Planetall/Junglee transaction was the most blatant of their criminal acts- individual KP partners invested personal cash to the tune of 15 million dollars in each company, and within 4 weeks that cash was turned into close to 1 billion dollars when the AMZN's board (controlled 100% by kleiner perkins) voted to buy those worthless companies- both of which have had their entire product line and staff dropped completely from existence.

KP is a bunch of crooks, and when the mania ends, there is no doubt in my mind that the entire staff will be in jail. I've posted this a dozen times or more, and I also live in the valley and know employees who interact with these jerks every day. I've yet to be sued, because the ultimate defense of libel is the truth.

These guys make the mafia look like a bunch of choir boys. The only reason they don't sue anyone who brings up their financial criminal deeds is because they don't want to attract any more attention to their criminal acts.

I'd at least have a shred of respect for you if you admitted that your bullishness was nothing more than a realization that there was a huge supply of suckers out there that were willing to hand over their money, but you have the audacity to continue to insist these are real businesses and that no financial fraud is involved.

These companies are scams on a scale never seen before by humanity, and there are only two choices.

1) Either you're a complete and utter idiot, unable to see what is happening around you, and thus rampantly bullish in complete ignorant bliss

or

2) You actually know what is going on, and you're a complicit crook who doesn't give a rats ass about the money you're taking from the public, aided by your prognostications.

Which is it? One or two? Are you a idiot, or just a petty crook?
