Regarding a split, of course not. Number of shares is always adjusted. But the spin-off of a division is different, and I think some clarification by either the CBOE or some other recognized authority would be valuable.

Until the options I wrote (hypothetically) are exercised, the holder simply has the right to buy my shares, at a fixed price. Nothing more. I still own the shares. I am still entitled to any dividend issued, aren't I? Same thing.
