People seems to be hoplessly confused as to all the ipo numbers based on a
few pm I received, so here are the numbers again after I reread the
S1-a :

shares to be ipo to the general public 23 millions
shares to be bought by Mot, Nok, Aol 15 millions
in a private placement
-------------------------------------------------------
sub-Total 38 millions

Shares to be retained by coms after ipo 532 millions
-------------------------------------------------------
Total Palm shares outstanding 570 millions

------------------------------------------------------
Underwriters can buy for themselves 3.45 millions
if the ipo is successful
------------------------------------------------------
Total Palm shares outstanding after all 573.45 millions
==================

Since coms is retaining the 532 million shares to be distributed
to the coms common shareholders and there are 340 (approx.) coms
shares outstanding, therefore

532 / 340 = 1.56 ( the ratio we are all using here )

One thing is not certain is that if the ipo price is upped from $16,
mot, nok and aol may choose to purchase less shares to keep their
combined investments at around $240 millions, then I don't know they
will sell more shares at ipo or what.

Hope this clarifies a few things.

Mang

Holding Jan 02 leaps (strike 30)....assuming they would carry the benefit of acquiring coms + palm shares.

Are you suggesting said leap would convert exclusively into coms?...as per treatment of employee options? That would be an interesting play!!!....on & after the date of distribution.

Appreciate clarification.

PS Many thanks for your very credible, helpful posts!!!
