Buffett takes stake in LIZ and JNY (Liz Clairborne and Jones NY). biz.yahoo.com Buffett, while still regarded as a master investor, has not performed well the past few years, as his emphasis on value growth has not worked well the past few years. view the performance of BRK.A, his holding co. over the past 5 years: quote.yahoo.com then again, don't bet against Buffett. And if one wanted to hedge his/her tech/net portfolio, picking up some BRKA or BRKB might just be a wise thing. fool.com It is interesting that Bershire's portfolio currently has 36 billion in cash, hmmm. Confession and learning on Z

<<I used to do that too ... maarten.
but now... like with the fuel company runners ...
I 'play' only a small amount of shares.>>

Took your advice and bought small stakes of high-risk companies I like:

ASIA, MPPP, HITS, NBCI, ROWE, VOCL, IDTC, HLTH

Looking for a good entry in CYTO, ELON, BLDP, INIT

All my positions suffer losses at the moment, but the stakes are little, so it's not a big loss.

If one of the stocks is a real runner, it will gain the losses of the others and a lot more.

And I'm still very happy with my prcy <g>

greetings,
Maarten
