zbyslaw, He also predicts the imminent end of fibrechannel and TDMA. I believe the jury to be out for a while on both. Brian

Hi Zbyslaw. Don't mean to rain on LU's parade on their OC-192 "coming out" party but can you comment on this question i posed on NT thread?

"The new gear, primarily aimed at the metropolitan and local access portions of the public network, eclipses existing OC-192 (10-Gbps) offerings from market leader Nortel Networks, according to analysts."

I thought that the main market for OC-192 is in the long-haul backbone transport? Why does the article say the LU OC-192 is primarily for the local & metro optics market which is a LOT SMALLER market right now?
