Tom -

The RDRT conference call had some figures that supplement the other responses on component quantities. RDRT stated they were averaging 2.8 heads per customer drive. They expect that to drop to 2.5 heads per drive by the end of the year.

RDRT will introduce a 15gb per platter head next month and have it in production in June. They will introduce a 20gb per platter head in September and have it in production before the end of the year. The platter density growth rate will continue at 100% per year for a few years.

In spite of these numbers RDRT projected a 25 to 30% sequential unit growth for this quarter. Either they were trying to impress the bankers or they expect to gain market share after really low numbers last quarter.

I believe the components are more plentiful in the enterprise market where drives have more speed and capacity but less platter density. However, the platter density is also increasing fast in those markets.

Regards,
Mark
