Hi ted:

Jim is not making fun of T/A at all. Jim has done much technical analysis in the past. His reference is to wave theory...Elliot Wave Theory which is a very complex branch of tecnichal analysis...

My own guess is we are currently in a very powerful wave as evidenced by the swift move from $35-11/16's pointed out by Paul on Feb.2/00 to $45 just 7 trading days after Paul's latest benchmark...The fact that AMD rose $3.00 on Friday in the face of such large general market negativity is another indicator of the very significant underlying strength in AMD...

Most importantly, it is unheard of in this industry that Q1 revenues exceed Q4 revenues which is what was suggested by Mr. Sanders on Friday! All the more remarkable is the fact that these Q1 revenues not only will exceed Q4, but exceed Q4 revenues which themselves were an all time record (and exceeded Q3 revenues by 35%)! The significance of AMD smashing through the $1 billion barrier in revenues in Q1, a historically weak quarter in terms of revenues, cannot be overstated!!! It also dispels any doubts cast by those here who referred to Q4 as a one quarter wonder! Consequently, any resistance at $48.50 is likely to be short lived! Look for a test of that upper boundary of the 5 year trading channel at $63 (or $58 according to Jim McMannis, either of which is OK by me)in the near term!

RE:"Jim, don't make fun of something which you appear not to understand. TA is not based on the sun, the moon or the stars. Its based on the patterns that a stock forms on its chart because of the number of transactions that occur on any given day and the place in the current quarter where these transactions occur."...

It seems you do not know me. Dr. Richard Wang and I have been corresponding for going on 7 years now. I've been applying TA for about 16 years.
