To All: Here is a testimony from a person who was in the know at a very large corporation. This person is one our many informants on the reality surrounding MSFT.

You are right in your reply that Oracle is NOT a low cost supplier. When I retired from The Boeing Company April 99 I managed 13 Buyers responsible for purchasing all "distributed" computing (software & hardware) worldwide - IBM, HP, SUN,Oracle,Sequent the big ones. After many years of dealing face to face with these boys, you come to understand their MO's. We always had to watch Oracle the closest - slick, slick and not cheap. I just wish I could be there now to see the licensing $ numbers of W2K contrasted to Oracle and Sun numbers.
