It's not just QCOM, it's the market conditions we are in now, the weak are staying weak and the strong are staying strong. Money is moving around chasing stocks the are rising, good for traders bad for long term holders if you have to the wrong stock.

Could we be discounting some news that might be coming at the analysts meeting this week?! Clearly, people are nervous about this meeting

An earnings warning is always a possability....however, at least for Jan., it seems like sub growth has picked up in Korea and Japan. I think that the slowdown in Korean sub-growth during the 4th quarter was the reason that the word "slump" was used during the CC.
