EU telecom market is as big as US, and growth(since they are 12-18 moths behind) may be higher.
What effects BT will effect ATT/BT JV and ATT.
FT/Glabal One is preparing alliance with SBC Comm...!( per Canadinan Press)

Doug, and the US market will be one of NNs biggest markets.
I believe that the discussion between an IP centric or ATM
centric web architecture has now been definitely solved
to an IP+ATM type of structure.NN holds the ATM card.

The time for CSCO IP-centric hype of the past 4 years is
gone.We now know The Emperor has no clothes in the ATM
aerea. So let us all quietly relax, take a deep breath and
start from here.NNs technology of giant 50/450,LMDS, DSL
and 3dsl will take care of it's self. I believe NN has put
their weak part ( marketing ) in order. That is the easy
part. Technology is the hard part and they have that.

Photonics are still a long way off.

We are heading towards cooling this red-hot economy with higher interest rates
.All photonic networks will be on the average more expensive than the
electronic system we got now and their overall market share much smaller .
The RBOCs know this. The small CLECs and ISPs will learn the hard way
as the RBOCs deploy giant systems that are bundled and cheap with voice
video and data over IP+ATM over copper cable and wireless
.

So things look very good for NN.

Also, when the Europ Econom Union was formed, a lot of
people have been speculating that there will be 3 major
markets now: USA, Europe and Japan.
I will submit to you that Europe+Japan are a bigger market
than USA. I also submit to you that NN will be very big in
Europe and Japan ( + China, Asia ).There is a reason why
Flynn is running NN now: He is very knowledgeable of Europe
and Asia .

I do tend to agree with previous comments from ZO:
You stated you are long on NN. However your posting seems to tend to dampen
NNs outlook and prospect. Is this a new form of cheerleading?
Maybe I am missing something,

T.A: The U.S mkt being the worlds biggest, offers the best potential to increase Sales.

U.S Investors are traditionally more locally focused.
