FWIW, Fadel Gheit was just interviewed on CNBC. He seems to think that the Saudis can bring about a "soft landing" of between $20-22 for crude after March. He said that a soft landing was something OPEC had never been able to do in the past.

Short term he thinks crude could move higher, because of the market always overdoing it to both the downside and upside.

I don't know how accurate his musings are/have been.
