(Nasdaq:DIGL - news), a leading provider of innovative optical networking products and technology, today announced that Nortel Networks has placed a $6.4-million order for the company's Network Information Computer© (NIC(TM)) and has selected the NIC as its product of choice for high-speed fiber-optic network testing. Nortel Networks placed the order through Telogy, Inc., one of the world's largest providers of equipment leasing services, as part of its build-out plans to provide additional network capacity in North America over the next two years. Nortel Networks, a Digital Lightwave customer since 1997, conducted a broad evaluation of products from several major manufacturers of optical test and measurement equipment before choosing the NIC.
