El,
When was the last February that you saw CPQ go up? It is always down in February. It will almost always be down in February. If history means anything, it is not going to do anything until March. This is the first 1Q that Compaq is not clearing large inventories. The 1Q will be better then historic 1Qs. The impact of new products will start showing in 2Q. The turn around ain't gonna happen over night.

To Elwood and Others;

We were all so eager to come up with contests to see who was going to be closest to fourth quarter eps and year end stock price. As a general statement we collectively (and I want to emphasize "collectively") overestimated on the bullish side.

How about a new contest? How about a guess as to where cpq will be on April 15, 2000. Here's my guess - $28.50. I tend to be a little more conservative than most on this thread - hopefully I'm wrong. Do I hear $30.00
