OT, no I did not read his talk, but am somewhat familiar with his thesis. No doubt he is brilliant, but the very fact that he can make such a thesis means that he has stepped outside of the universe he claims is not designed in order to observe that it is not designed. To me that is a contradiction, and argues for design. It's one of those "strange loops."

I favor Chardin's cosmology myself.
