Sorry to be so cryptic...

SI post recognize html control characters. HTML commands are delimited with angle brackets. For instance <!b> begins a bold font that continues until you insert <!/b>. For italics use the letter i.

note - do not include the exclamation point. I have to do this in this post else the symbol with be active and you won't be able to see the command.

Mary told us of the command PRE, meaning preformatted. Apparently this switches in a fixed width courier font which is what you need to maintain the spacing in your tables. The fixed font continues until you use the <!/PRE> symbol to turn it off again.

This is what happens.

This sentence is bold
This one is italic
    This one is formatted
The leading spaces are kept
