Zhengzhou Cable TV Builds Asia's First Dynamic Packet Transport Network
BEIJING, Feb. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Zhengzhou Cable TV, a prominent service provider in Henan Province, is building Asia's first integrated broadband multiservice network based on Dynamic Packet Transport (DPT) technology from Cisco Systems (Nasdaq: CSCO - news), the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet. Zhengzhou Cable TV currently covers Zhengzhou city and its seven counties, serving over 320,000 subscribers. By the end of this year, that number is expected to grow to 450,000.

Zhengzhou CATV's new broadband network is based on Cisco's 12000 GSR series, the premier routing product family designed and developed for the core of service provider IP backbones. Services that Zhengzhou CATV will offer include Voice over IP (VoIP), videoconferencing, Video on Demand (VoD) and Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN).
