James,

I was just wondering where you had gotten your statement from Lews post, that's all.

But now that you have said that, do you see the Bible and acts of the New Testament church as no example at all?

Nahum 1:7

James, not all of my thinking is on the right track but, I have felt that the necessities of the Old Testament were different than in the time of the New Testament, and the solutions were therefore of a different nature. God had to mold the people of Abraham into the nation that would best serve His purposes, and then had to see that they were able to find, and establish the land that had been chosen for them. This, apparently, required the savage warfare we see waged by Moses, and then by Joshua.

As I understand it, the New Testament takes over hundreds or thousands, of years after the establishment of Israel and Judea. Don't forget, I have not had much in depth study of this, and admittedly can be off base. Even though happenings like the destruction of Jerusalem by the Roman Legions, the basic boundries were set geographically, and it was time for God to begin the process of bringing souls back to the proper path through the crucifixion of Jesus which began the Faith we now adhere to. Different circumstances, different rules.

BTW, Osceola was a Seminole chief, the tribal name in the Creek/Muscogee language that meant "run aways" because the original Seminole tribe was made up of those who ran away from the tribal laws of the Creek nation. While Osceola is noted for never signing a treaty with the whites, I am in no way associated with his tribe. :^)

Santiago, I am far from being perfect also. I humbly thank our heavenly Father, for His grace, and the blood shed by our Saviour, Jesus Christ to release us from the bondage of sin.

I think there are disagreements because many of us are at different levels, if you will, in our walk with the Lord. And even though you are reading my words now, you don't know me, and I don't know you. In this media, you really have to spell it out for people to understand the essence of what you are trying to convey. We don't have the luxury of being subtle here, so conflicts do arise because of misunderstandings. I think if we can realize that, and get past it, the lines of communication will flow.

My personal feeling is that questions such as the tithe, and others will be dealt with on an individual basis. The Lord will convict us when He knows the time is right.

As far as getting any blessing or understanding from others on these so called Christian threads, I can testify that people have e-mailed me a year or so later, to tell me that something I said,(Only by the grace of God), made a big difference in their lives. And for this reason, I will continue to post the Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Hope, all the fruits of the Spirit, even when it seems as though no one cares or is listening, and through all the spiritual battles that take place.

You probably know better than I that there are Bibles that have cross-references from Old Testament to New Testament, to help explain many of these things that seem to be contradictions.

Another thing that I think will tell you where I stand, is that many of the songs and scriptures that I post on this thread may seem to be picked at random, but they're not. There are a few people that I know very well and when I post a song or scripture to them it's because I'm aware of a situation that they may be going through at that particular time, and I'm trying to be helpful.

As for myself, I depend on the discernment of the Holy Spirit, and try to keep my eyes, heart and soul on our Lord Jesus Christ. I'm aware that you are in a position of authority, and to whom much is given, much is required.

I don't expect you to know everything about me in one post. But I'm glad we started this discussion, and I pray that we can be of help to each other.

In Christ,
Lew

Dear James (from Nancy),
Only one suggestion from love: Look for the way the OT is the same not how the Jews were treated differently and how it is different from what you believe. I have heard many say that they can not see how Jacob the deceiver was picked over Essau? Or why would God choose David, he was an adulterer and killer. The bottom line is that, it is God's choice and if we want to know Him more we have to put off the thinking of men and pray to see what it is in these people that God chose to reveal Himself with. Then we can start to see election and its purpose. For God to reveal Himself to mankind IMO.
Do you think God will choose to bring down Nations of arrogance and rebellion today as He did in the OT? The Nations that Israel attacked He said directly that there sins were full.
I am not responding to cause irritation only sharing how I to learn more of God personally. If I am deceived and have love in my heart He will teach me and guide me. If I have not love in my heart He will allow me to follow my own devises.
Lord Bless,
Nancy
