Point about Cisco and LU paying lofty prices is understood. However, we were talking about IBM as suitor here. Traditionally pretty conservative with such matters. Again, I'm not saying it won't happen, but there is a fair amount of overlap between BMC and Tivoli. Why spend $15+ billion for a company with overlap? The mainframe appeal of BMC is a big plus for IBM, though. Time will tell.
