The IDX/MSFT PR is out this morning: siliconinvestor.com "Microsoft's Charles Fox, architectural engineer Microsoft Denver, said, 'We have been demonstrating the first biometric fingerprint readers from Identix and Compaq since they were released in 1998. Our customers have consistently commented that this is the one password that can't be lost. The Identix BioLogon products demonstrate the new level of security that can be supported by Windows 2000.'" (Emphasis supplied.) Enough with IDX supporting Windows 2000, the MSFT exec says that Windows 2000 supports IDX solutions. Microsoft has been demonstrating IDX security since their 1998 release! This release also makes clear it won't be Gates doing the demo, but that IDX is the only biometric supplier featured (answering one of Bob Jordan's burning questions) and that we will see multiple devices shown, including the PCMCIA reader.
