Chuck, The fundamental problem with Ultrasparc from what I gather is that the program has been terribly run and they aren't even making a lot of headway on the debug/verification aspects. Until recently, Sun Microelectronics was not being very competitive with their employee stock option program. They served as a training ground for startups, and lost most of their top talent. This has been good for the Silicon Valley economy, but lousy for microprocessor development at Sun. Scumbria
