I think if you go to Sun's WebSite you'll find that iPlanet is already out there. JMHO.

Sun is too smart to try to cooperate with AMD which has screwed and disappointed almost everyone it has partnered with (including Intel). Moreover, AMD is in terrible financial shape and cannot afford to contribute anything to any JV. Sun, however, has a wonderful opportunity to acquire AMD (with stock), drive a stake through Jerry's heart, and become a significant competitor of Intel. Again, Sun is too smart to mess with AMD. But an acquisition would almost be worthwhile just to make Intel squirm, as did NSM, IDTI, TXN, NEC and everyone else who tried to compete with them and then limped away and prospered.
