What is shocking is that the carriers buy into it, but the loss of biz to LU you mention gives hope that in the future they will not do so.

<Incidentally, Dr Viterbi was reported as saying he didn't expect such a huge cellphone business. How puzzling. All[nearly] humans want to hear. They want to see. Therefore all humans will want WWeb. That is the new way to see and hear. So even the most insiderly people are underestimating how big the WWeb will be.> Good detection work WMolloy and Clark. Looks as though the article has a LOT of things wrong. So it's either grossly misreported or an outright fake! It really surprised me to see Dr Viterbi quoted as not expecting such a huge cellphone business. That's not the impression I've had for years. For years Qualcomm has talked in terms of 6-Packs of cellphones [back in 1994 at least].

Sorry to have inadvertently perpetuated the dodgy article!
