Paul - <Intel "SlipStreams" the Coppermine 128 into production ?

Intel announced - with no fan fare - what appears to be the 128 K L2 cache version of the Coppermine - or Coppermine 128 - for Mobile applications.

Higher Speed - up to 500 MHz & 100 MHz Bus & SSE and 0.18 micron process!>

Interesting. You're right; not much fanfare. But these are Coppermine 128's in Mobile form.

PB

Hi pauL!

Glad to see the pauL FUD pucker factor at an all time high this year!
How is Yousef? Heard from him lately?

Must be time to buy more AMD, eh pauL? Add to your 13% AMD holdings.

Sorry about Gelsinger........Celery is a good chip! Benchmarks can be deceiving, huh?

Is Willy coming out? *ntel gonna try the 820 chipset again? Good for them. Maybe Rambust will fly this time. DELL can sell a ton of it. I heard they still got all of those floppermine/camino-go boxes out back they can use, increase their profits for next quarter.

*ntel is in good hands. I'm glad Andy Grove is leaving.

I notice you are still violating the SI Terms of Use!

That should quieten down the transmeta crowd a little bit. 4W is close enough in total system power to their 1+W design in the slower CPU models) that I don't think any developers are going to want to risk using their chips when total system power might be down 10-20% tops.
