I find it interesting that the press release does not mention a date, firm capacity or transfer rate and states that "Super DLT tape technology is designed to offer backward compatibility with the existing DLTtape product family." Unless this has changed, which would probably mean that the mid-2000 date slipped considerably, this is a grossly misleading statement by Quantum. Heard from one person in the business who had a SDLT for evaluation several months ago. He said they literally fried an egg on top of it. Also, said the 7000 has heat problems and a high return rate. May explain why the DLT high end isn't selling well and why we see very little gross margin. What I can't figure out given all the problems I hear about is why Quantum is aggressively buying back DSS stock. -Z
