RESEARCH ALERT - Advanced Micro EPS view raised
NEW YORK, Feb 15 (Reuters) - Banc of America said it raised its 2000 earnings estimate on Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NYSE:AMD - news) to $2.35 a share from $2.05 a share due to strong business fundamentals.

-- said raised the 2001 earnings estimate to $3.25 a share from $2.50 a share.

-- said ``significant upside exists' on the earnings estimates for 2000 and 2001.

-- said Advanced Micro is "off to a fast start in 2000."
-- set a price target of $75.
-- said reiterated a strong buy rating on the stock.
-- shares of Advanced Micro gained 3/16 to 43-3/8 on the New York Stock Exchange.

<Has anyone seen the k6-2+? Is this chip MIA?

All the NDAs came off but the chip hasn't appeared.....are bin speeds moving too fast?>

I think there is a good chance that K6-2+ may not amount to much. I think AMD will phase out K6s and phase-in Spitfires faster than the market is expecting.
