An item in the newspaper's dining guide last week ...

There is a hidden gem amid the old oak trees
at 2450 Mid Lane. Crapitto's, located in an
original two-story home, separates itself from
all other Italian restaurants in Houston with
a cozy, distinctive atmosphere, exceptional
food and uncompromising service....

I'm guessing that Crapitto is a family name --
a very proud family name apparently.

I dunno about controversy, but on NPR this morning I heard a fragment of an interview of some guy who wrote a book about native Americans. (Indians to us older sorts.) What I took home from that was the way the Indian naming convention adapted to a whole new set of metaphors.

Rufus Whitewoman.
John Allshottopieces.
Arlene Respectsnothing.

Maybe we could all make up Indian names for ourselves, or each other.

"Pervert Comes on Heels of Successful 'Lice Are Nice' Campaign." There. I think that's pretty controversial.
