Jean: If you haven't noticed the whole market is being dumped. NAZ down 114. All techs save a few are getting hammered. QCOM TLAB ORCL MSFT INTC SUNW etc etc are down big. As the day of launch approaches the FUD becomes greater and greater. It is kind of like the Y2K scare. And this too shall pass. JFD

Looks like sell the rumor, buy the news.

Agree the ABM (Anyone But Microsoft) FUD factory is working overtime this week, plus the market has Greenspan's 2-day Humphrey Hawkins testimony to fret over this Thursday/Friday as well as an options expiration, but my guess is this particular buying opportunity won't last much beyond this week. The PC vendors have been waiting a long time for W2K and they aren't about to lounge around. We're no longer in the 1900s and for companies operating on Internet time the notion that they'll take six or more months of "wait and see" before doing anything with W2K is just wishful thinking on the part MSFT's competitors. MSFT has once again set the expectations bar very low and I think folks are going to be very surprised at how aggressive the NT->W2K ramp is going to be right out of the gate.
