If this is true (big IF) then it will be put up or shut up time for AMD. The claim has been that AMD is holding back it's fastest parts so as to embarrass Intel by trumping anything Intel can demo. Keep in mind, this is very early Willamette silicon on a process that is not yet mature.


EP, I have no doubt that it is true...it will be interesting to see if special cooling is required.

May we live in interesting times.

Never had a doubt on that one either.

Seems to me the key is "demo"...or should we say ship...?
Surely the 1 Ghz Floppermine (more Intel vapor) will ship next week? And the Slick Willy will be right behind it...?
