News:Universal Trading Technologies Corporation Appoints New Members to the Board of Directors PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 15, 2000--Ashton Technology Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:ASTN) today announced that its subsidiary, Universal Trading Technologies Corporation (UTTC) has appointed two new directors to its Board of Directors - Joseph P. Castellano and Mark Valentine. Mr. Castellano is president of Network and Corporate Systems at Bell Atlantic. He is responsible for new automation development for the Network Group and for Bell Atlantic's IT infrastructure and data centers. Between 1992 and 1997 he served as NYNEX's chief information officer and vice president - Information Services. He was responsible for IT infrastructure and system development activities. Mr. Castellano has also served in senior technology management roles at Citibank, Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc., and Merrill Lynch. Mr. Valentine is the Chairman of the Board of Thomson Kernaghan & Co., Ltd. (TK), a Canadian investment firm headquartered in Toronto, Canada and member of all major Canadian exchanges. He also is a director and executive committee member of TK, which is one of Canada's oldest privately-owned investment dealers. As TK's Chairman, Mr. Valentine oversees a wide range of the firm's brokerage activities, which serve Canadian corporate, institutional and retail clients. Prior to joining TK in 1994, Mr. Valentine worked in the retail sales unit of Burns Fry Ltd., another major Canadian investment firm.
