I don't know whether or not Intel might demnd allegiance at some point, but I do know, there will be few adherents to such a demand unless their PWeeIII production problems at the top-end (i.e now 850 MHz) get resolved satisfactorily...

Unfortunately, they will wait til production is good before making the demand. AMD's hope is that by that time the OEMs are not willing to go back to a single vendor.
