The "holdings" of the SS fund are simply accounting entries. For all practical purposes bonds held in the SS fund are non-existent -- it was created to make politicians feel better. The effect on LT bond interest rates, when this supply reduction really kicks in, will be dramatic -- unless there is an inflationary spiral, which I seriously doubt.
