If true, that would make it one year behind schedule and 1 1/2 year behind PS2.

I was also surprised. If true, they would be well behind PS2. Even if PS2 slips into the Fall, they will be a year ahead.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was a software problem. You'll notice that the X-box games will allegedly be incompatible with the pc....

I'd imagine this will cause some headaches for developers. Also, who will even want to develop for another platform???

It will be interesting to see what AMD tie-in is announced on Thursday.

Chuck, <that would make it [MS X-Box] one year behind schedule and 1 1/2 year behind PS2.>

Not only that, but the article also pointed out that it will NOT be compatible with current PC software. I'm not surprised; who wants to install a game onto a console before playing it? On the other hand, X-Box will have VERY LITTLE software support at its release.

Remember, it's not the hardware specs that necessarily sell a game console, it's also the software. Why is Sony Playstation still selling out, even though the hardware is inferior to Nintendo 64? The answer is software.

This X-Box has "belly-flop" written all over it.
