Air mattress: wise idea. When we were 18, we could crash on the floor, and it worked. After about 30, give or take a few years, it is just a bad idea. My sister-in-law used to have a big dog and pony show for Christmas, on the New Jersey periphery of the NYC metro area. We would go for several days, and sleep with a thin comforter on the floor. My son and I both move around a great deal in our sleep, so the comforter never stayed under us, and he would frequently roll himself across the room, while I awoke every half hour or hour, until exhaustion permitted a quieter sleep. Between my son's mobility and my jumping up and down, it was a wonder that my wife got any sleep. Now that I think of it, only a queen or king sized air mattress would have helped....LOL!
