I feel the same way. The selling has had me baffled enough to go back and carefully reread the 10Q's for the last year. Can't find anything wrong. And you are right - they ARE practically printing money. High production and cash flow, actively drilling at low day rates, Arkoma field looking better than hoped, paying down debt, stock buyback coming, etc, etc, etc.

Have also decided that I'm not selling any here, and have buy orders at 7 3/4 and 7 1/2. Depending on API's, may put in another one at 8 tomorrow.

"You know what XTO's stock portfolio could do on a sector run here ? - they could reap a nice tidy little windfall here - maybe Simpson will issue the proceeds as a nice one time dividend to all those shareholders who have posted nice things about XTO at least 20 times on Internet message boards..."

Yeah I wish, unfortunately XTO will not even respond to an investor's e-mail concerning their portfolio. One would think that a positive holding would be tauted. WDIK

I'd like to see an XOI rally here to feel more confident about oil sector rotation.

At least a 3-5 day run back to the 480 level. The XOI is the most oversold compared to the XNG and the OSX (short term, probably long term too imho). If big money is going to make a bet prior to the OPEC meeting they will show it first with the XOI.

We had a nice run back in Nov. I'm still holding UCL. Bought OXY, XTO, PXD today. Sold MAVK, probably too early, but I wanted to take some profits. Will buy back MAVK on any decent weakness.

On margin again. With $30 oil and money flowing into this sector I'm willing to take the bet based on the strength I saw in the XOI and others today.

Lead the way XOI.

Slider or any EOG fan: management protection plan
(er, shareholder rights plan) now in place with a 15% accumulation trigger, per this morning's Houston Chronicle. I've been looking at EOG, OEI, and XTO for entries (my O&G exposure is largely Berkley and San Joaquin Basin juniors). Now that EOG management wants protection from shareholders, I'm not sure I want it. Does this news change your view of the stock?
