MJ: It was great to actually meet you, and so many from our virtual neighborhood (MJ and his brothers make some excellent wines). I did get to meet FMK, mooter, Hell Qat, thefult (Yahoo), Paul K.( he generously picked up the tab for most of the dinners), John Curtis, several lurkers, and many I'm sure I am forgetting. My father and I had a pleasant conversation with Ticker and Mrs. Ticker over dinner. My impressions from the AM; Lev said that he is now permitted to say that VLNC has a relationship with QCOM, he cannot write it, but he can say it. I asked Lev if he has had a change of heart about stepping down in the near future to which he replied that he was required to stay so that they could secure financing (I think that was probably Capital Guardian) but he was not ruling out the possibility that he might keep his original time frame ( this would probably require some very positive announcements in the near future). Lev emphasized that their goal is to create a company like QCOM that derives its value from licensing of what he feels is their proprietary technology. He noted that they are not "saving" news for special occasions like stockholder meetings and that he wants this company to succeed based on revenues and profits not on hype and "blue sky", if we have a P.O. or other significant event they will announce as soon as the ink dries. Lev also cautioned every one that this is still a young company in an area that is on the cutting edge and therefore is subject to a higher level of risk than more established technologies. That being said, I don't think any of us there feels Lev thinks VLNC will fail, and that if they do succeed the shareholders will benefit enormously. With that I will leave it to others for their impressions, and I would highly recommend that even more threadsters make the trip next year. My apologies to any I met and forgot to mention. duckster
