Rambus is therefore a discontinuous inovation with a value chain quickly forming around it.
Once Compaq joins the chain with Dell it seems to me that all future Pcs will have to go Rambus. Rambus doesn't have to be the best, just the one chosen as the standard to be the gorilla.

DS you're absolutely right on the PCI thing. All Rambus changes is the handling of memory. It's silent on other system components.
