Well, I was never much of a contributor, but I have been here lurking, at least twice daily, and occasionally pontificating since spring '96 when I first became aware of the sector. The board isn't as much fun as then, but it keeps the ignorant (i.e. ME) informed.

Like Lester and so many others, I'm still holding.

Hi Terry,

I'm happy for your sons who have no more financial problems in going to college. If I'm not mistaken, you bought AMAT LEAPs for one son in 199(before the other son arrived).

The stock is about 5 dollars down from the 177 3/4 All time High set this morning, so it's now OK for me to Post.

RE: "Tito with his talk of stairs and landings has built a staircase to retirement. We have done OK with our 15 or 20x returns - but what
must Tito have realized with his aggressive leap and call buying?"

Lets see how our Benchmark LEAPs fared. They are the Jan 2000 and 2001 30 Calls. The Jan 2000 30 Call made it from about 4 dollars to about 115 just before expiration last month --- a 2775 percent change!
The other one, the 2001, which could have been bought at 6 dollars before is worth about 147 this morning --- a 2350 per cent change thus far! with 11 months to spare.

I won't be surprised if those friends who followed our AMAT LEAP Investment Strategy are contemplating retirement now.
